Berny,
I've never seen an ebony cue with a steel joint, so I'm interested to here what this feels like.
Also, is the cue cored?

Mike
The cue is State Side in my collection for the last 4-6 weeks.
The work is exceptional in the inlays, the ebony is the richest black ebony I have ever seen, and the leather wrap with lizard print is just a great feel.
I cannot answer the question about the cue being cored but maybe Berny knows or can find out from Michael (with the lightness of the forearm I can assume it is).
As for the play:
I own a Black Boar and know how the 6-Pointers and the 4-Pointers hit. I also own and have been using 2 Dennis Searing (both 4-pointers with one a Full SS Joint and the second is a Half SS Joint) cues as a playing cue. This V cue has a great balance, nice sound to the hit, a great feel when you hit the cue ball, and very litte off center hits are needed to apply any English. I am amazed how very little effort is needed to get the cue ball to draw with the V cue. I love the feel of this cue and now the BB goes back the safe for good.
If a chance comes along, I am going to try to find a 6-pointer V cue to see how well it plays. The search has been initiated to find one and if not I will have MV just build me one to my specifications.
If ever around on the east coast, let me know and I will be glad to let you play a few rounds with it.
Michael Vollmer builds an exceptional cue!
