JFlowers Shaft (Weight Reduction)

I’ve recently upgraded from a Lucasi LH wood to the JFlowers CF SMO cue.
I really love the smooth finish of this SMO shaft, the radial pin (bye uniloc), and the lower deflection. I moved from a 12.4 down to a 11.8mm tip, and have no regrets at all.
If there was one thing that I’d improve would be the weight in the butt. The 19oz configuration is a bit weird, having moved from a 17oz Lucasi butt. It seems like adding the 4oz extension would make it too heavy at around 22oz.
Are there any JFlower users out there who’ve successfully removed weight from a JF 20-21 butt? I can ask support and get some help too.
 
Have you removed the bumper to see if there is a weight bolt?

I have a different model that is 19oz with no weight bolt, I don’t mind the weight as much the balance point which for me feels a bit butt heavy.

I don’t mind the extra weight of the extension, I don’t leave it permanently, only for reaching far shots.

If there is no weight bolt, maybe a custom cue maker can bore it a bit but I would not bother with such low end cues.

19 is including the Shaft.
My JFlowers butt is 15.3oz
The SMO shaft 3.5oz
Real total is 18.8 but they sell it as 19.
Balance point is 17.9 inches ftom the bumper, I prefer a balance point of 18.5 to 19 inches from the bumper, so it feels butt heavy to me although the weight is OK

I'm more of a feel player. My last cue was 19.25 and balance was exactly 18". My current cue is 18.99 and balance point is 19"

I tried to get my current cue like the old one and it just didn't work out.

Shaft weight and length and butt weight and length effect things.

I put a request through JFlowers support. It’s not terribly complicated. I just need to know if there’s a single weight bolt, or if they stacked.
Their bolt kit is on back order. I’ve ran a few racks, and it’s getting better. I like keeping the extension on for just a bit of extra reach.

So far the SMO shaft is everything as advertised!
 
I just recently inherited the Valkyrie (triple wrap version). with two of the (standard) 12.5 shafts and butt extension........On my scale (without extension) it weighs in at 18.8-9 (says 19 online).......could be my old scale is off....The balance point is the ring just in front of the top wrap 18" or so.....I tend to hold the cue at the very front of the wrap when standing/lining up so to me it is perfect.

The way the cue is balanced it actually feels kind of light like it is less than 19oz...but it is........The guy I got it from got it as payment for a gambling debt....passed it on to me for a such a good price I could not say no (basically gave it to me)....He said try it and if I don't like it...flip it....or give it back to him and he would sell it for a lot more. (than what I paid)

Turns out the cue plays great....I thought I was going to have to upgrade to the SMO shaft...but I hit balls with it and the amount of CB movement I get is ridiculous .... It has the "fusion" tip on it and the amount of draw I can get (from distance) is incredible (to me)....makes me feel like Mike Massey. (although I am not)....I can get very low on the CB with no miscue......basically I can set up with the tip on the cloth.

The added bonus is (with the standard shaft) it has the same deflection as the wood predator 314 shafts and pretty much plays just like it....So I have transitioned back to BHE with it...I can set up for center CB and then apply english on the final stroke....It is what I call "self correcting" as long as you keep your bridge hand from moving.

I am curious to try the SMO shaft....but don't think it would be of any benefit (to me) as I like a little deflection so I can just set up center CB for every shot and apply BHE any time I need english.....The no/ super low deflection shafts I had to set up using more FHE...and that meant setting up my bridge hand off center CB and although I can do it...I like setting up center CB every time.....just one of those personal preference things.

I think the JFlowers gets mixed reviews....but I can't see getting rid of this cue.... It plays to damn good!!!!
