Joe Davis' high break?

Does anyone know what the great Joe Davis' high break was in competition? I'm sure he ran 147's in practice but I'm not sure if he did in a tournament.

Also, does anyone think he may not have reached his full potential due to not really being pushed by many players? If he grew up playing in today's game I kind of feel he would have been forced to have more centuries just to keep up.

90% of all play in those days was exhibitions. He made the break playing in one in front of a large crowd. I can't remember where but I know he used to play in theatres up on stage with a huge mirror behind the table so everybody could see. I can't imagine playing eith those ivory balls, I tried them years ago in Ireland and you got a skid every shot!!

The old time commentator Ted Lowe always said Joe Davis was the best he ever saw but really who knows, I am sure today he still would have been a solid player.
