Joe Porper cue ?

He started in 1985. For a custom cue maker, he produced a lot of cues in the 1990's. He was still selling cues as far as I know about 10 years ago, but they were mostly made in the earlier years and he started focusing on magic props. He had a unique conical joint for awhile. His latter day focus was on fancy cues, with various material including ebony, ivory, bone, stag horn, exotic stones, scrimshawed horn and bone, etc. He had a very successful line of tuxedo cues (black and white) . He won a few awards and produced some very fancy art object cues.

I haven't seen Joe in a while - hope he's doing well.

I had a fancy one in 1990, worse cue I ever owned in how it played. Was pretty as hell though. I only loss about 700 on that cue, pretty much gave it away out of frustration.
