John Barton VS Lou Figueroa

Ask Lou. Arizona Jay is a St. Louis player and Lou WILL NOT bet more than $10 a game with him.

Me and Jay played for a couple hours at $50 a game to practice.

I will be happy to back Jay against Lou for $100 a game if Lou will play.
So what's your point ,, that's bubble gum money to you

Here's. a news flash for you when you play pool every day you tend to get a little better until you reach your cap limit aiming systems might help those who can't aim make a ball here and there that they might otherwise miss but its certainly not going to make anyone a marginally better player I know several players who know CTE and none of their games jumped 2 ball anyone who has that jump probably was not that good to begin with
If running a 10 and a 4 is a great accomplishment . I must be on my way to stardom because I did a 9 and 3 a week ago and I have only been back playing for a little more than month. and don't even play one pocket
If I put all the time and money you have to learn the game and 10 n 4 was the best thing I had to brag about on the Internet. I would probably quit the game

All right, so I just have to interject...

I was the OP here, and this was MY THREAD... so I will assume a little responsibility of what has gone one... but after about page 4 I just sat back and watched.

I know the history now, I know what's on the line, I have my predictions (which I will keep to myself)...

BUT...

I think JB and Dick need to get a match going too... as it has been stated, Dick obviously is favored, but is Dick will to put up against JB...?

Just some food for thought... there might need to be a Keyboards to Cuesticks TWO lol

Dick's like 102 years old lol...that is not going to happen without a time machine :grin-square:. Sorry Dick, I couldn't resist. Carry on...

Completely inaccurate.

CTE/Pro One definitely can improve a player's game - it improved mine and I wasn't a beginner when I started.

These sweeping all-encompassing statements have no credibility.

I bank twice as well with CTE than I did before, thin cuts are no issue, back cuts etc. I find it extremely powerful on back cuts where the pocket is not in our line of sight.

This isn't just my opinion - these are facts that have been proven many times on video by numerous people.

Cheers,
Gerry

Not to derail the thread Gerry, am I correct to assume that you have tried a lot of the aiming systems on here and CTE is your most used/favorite? Have you tried SAM?

I know of and have explored about 5. I do not wish to list them however.

CTE/Pro One is the best IMO.

Heard of SAM (Supplemental Aiming System) but that is all I know of it.

You miss all the points. You're probably right.....my game might only be .456748765 balls better since working with Stan and being on this trip but my enjoyment of this game and appreciation for the people in it is 644654 balls better.

And like I said you can get in line. Post your stake and we can get it on when I am done with Lou.

What speed were you playing before the players I'm talking about are pro or pro speed players who don't miss many balls to begin with jumping up 2 balls at that level is a huge jump ,, I know Stevie Moore had a jump in his game however I would like to know when he worked with another instructor before that

Someone who I won't put in the spotlight, brought to my attention that Status of SJD's health, and in no way would I want to put that kind of pressure on him.
I was mainly joking about the Dick and JB match, but it led me to a cool idea...

To cover the idea of CTE vs GB... I think we should have Mr. Shuffet, and whoever happens to be the leading instructor using GB (I unfortunately don't know who this would be), and have an AVERAGE player, or even a brand spanking new beginner...
Play the 4 ball ghost, and EVERY shot has to be dictated from the instructor, and the shooter has to do EXACTLY as the instructor says.
Alternate racks between instructors... play idk 100 racks... and keep track of the stats on numbers of balls made under each instructor...

I think that would be a very subjective way to determine which method works best.
this would cover many variables
realiability, easy of understanding, repeatability, and usefulness...

just a thought

We've heard all about it. and there might be a handful here that actually care but that number pales in comparison to those who would love to see you get waxed as almost everyone loves to see a s--t talker eat grow
I would highly suggest fasting because you'll need plenty of room to spoon it all in shall you lose

No need to do any of that. Just have anyone at any speed duplicate Stan's video examples. I bet $100,000 that Lou cannot do it.

If Dick was able to play he couldn't do it either. And Dick would probably have a little better chance since he was a golf player and as such would have a better chance than most.

You want an objective measure just get on the table and try the same shots.

Well you're gonna need a better hero to pin your hopes on. The only waxing Lou might be qualified to do is Brazilian but even that might be too hard for him.

You should pray I lose because if you don't like it now.....imagine what it will be like if I beat your boy on stream in front of thousands.....

He tried to high roll me but in the end he will show us the high speed wobbles.

If Lou wants to triple the bet we can play on a triple shimmed table. Ask him about the time he whined and cried because he couldn't run balls on a triple shimmed table. He *****ed so much that the room owner had to call the mechanic to come back and take out the shims.

That's who you are dreaming will hold up and beat me. Good luck with that.

That proves nothing except stand a good shot maker
Maybe CJ will give it a try with TOI

Semi-Pro in the Quebec system.

Consistency and ball pocketing improved quite a bit with CTE/Pro One.

Two can play the 'editing game', but mine is so MUCH more realistic than yours ! :sorry:

I understand what you are saying here... but that only pertains to those particular shots. Granted they are pretty evident that they work, for those shots... but I don't even understand the concept of having two different aiming lines, and visuallizing an "inbetween" and then adjusting your body accordingly... I just don't get it.

I spent several hours watching Stan's videos and while his logic seems sound, and he obviously has an idea what he is talking about... it makes NO sense to me... and without someone to show me in person, I don't know how to proceed in even trying to test the theory...

the video thas has me COMPLETELY lost, is the one where he has several GIANT balls setup on the table, and he says that you use the SAME two aiming points for every shot, but the shot self adjusts to the pocket... that makes no sense to me... if I aim the same way on 3 different shots, the result wouldn't change...

I guess I just don't get the concept of visualising something that isn't there...

Not knocking aiming systems and I did just get my CTE PRO ONE. I will see if it help. John not to put you on the spot but you keep challenging non believers in the system. Wouldn't the challenge be for someone other than Stan to be able to duplicate the same shots in the video using the system. To make someone a believer in aiming systems you need someone who had a known level before learning a system and became a higher skilled player afterwards. I guess the challenge would be can you duplicate The shots Stan made. That would make more people believers in aiming systems. I was helping someone the other night and she said she was left eye dominant but shoots right handed. I thought of Geno and told her I would look into it. He gets knocked to but he has helped players with their aim and eye dominance.
