Just got the cue John Built for me
Butt- 1.292 inch
Joint- .849 inch
Balence Point- 18 1/4 inch
Butt Weight- 15.6 oz
Shaft 1- 4.2 oz
Shaft 2- 4.4 oz
Tips- 13.17 mm
Cue is Bastogne Walnut forearm with Waterfall Bubinga Butt and Points, cognac Kangeroo warp from Martin at (lwww.superiorcues.com), a “5/16-14 Piloted Buffalo Horn Joint,Ivory Ferruls and the shafts are sunken wood from Timeless Timberfrom Sunken Maple. I requested a 19.5 oz cue but the shafts from the sunken maple are about 1oz heavier than shafts from new growth maple or at least that is my take on it as the last cue I had from John the one shaft was new growth and was an oz lighter. My pictures don't do the cue justice and I will take some more with my other camera and post them.
The points are darn close to perfect, the fit is excellant and running my hand up the cue you can only feel the were the wrap joins the butt but it is a tight fit and not an abrubt feel.
I haven't yet hit with the cue but I have had a previous cue from John and if this is similar I will be very pleased. The previous cue from John was one i purchased that he had in process but after sending John some raw wood of mine and his approval of it i sold that cue for within $50.00 of what I paid for it after shooting it a year (not something one can always do) with a cue that isnt one of the top 10 in the vogue. This is Johns 66 th cue and to my knowledge he doesn't have a CNC or even a panograph, its all hand and equipment he has assembled. John is a very good friend of Richard Black and has been inspired and encouraged by his friend and mentor Richard Black. John is a pleasure to deal with and for what he is chaarging for his cues I think it is one of the best deals going. As I said the pictures arent good and once I play it i'll give more info. John can be reached at ( johnbendercues@verizon.net) if anyone is interested. Tell him Randy sent you. In the picture 4 cues, my previous cue from John is the 3rd one down.
