I asked John Bender (from New Jersey) to make me an exact replica of a Willie Hoppe cue. Dimension wise, it's near perfect. He requested to have the points lengthened a bit for a more balanced look. The compound taper is the same as the original as is also the thickness. John does not deal with CNC so he tapered this cue manually based on his original Hoppe which he owns. I don't know of another cue maker who would go out of his way to do that. The points and butt sleeve are of Brazilian Rosewood. The maple forearm is part of a batch of wood that he bought years ago with shipping boxes marked 1958 on them making this cue somewhat authentic. The brass pin was home made. And the Brunswick label added a nice finishing touch. This cue might be a replica but it represents history from a time that is becoming forgotten. Cool cue, I love these old Titlists. I have an original Hoppe/Brunswick cue like the one pictured and a Titlist/Hoppe conversion. I would like to find another Hoppe to have converted, I want to leave my Hoppe original except for maybe some retsoration work on it.
 
Cue probably plays fantastic. John is one of the most underrated cuemakers out there; his workmanship and attention to detail is second to none.

Vert nice tribute

I love the label on the butt. Great cue. I have an RC3 ebony tribute. I figured itnwould be tuff to get an original ebony.

very nice. but i never liked the thick butt of the hoppe so i used to have them turned down some.
