All I know is that it started yesterday...I am curious to though!! My money was on Archer, the way he's been playing lately...
Corey was in Park Avenue (Orange Park, Florida) on Friday night. He was playing in a ring game with some of the locals. He's a good shot, but I'm not sure if it's nough to beat Archer!!
Okay, I got the scoop! They played two races to 20, and ARcher won those. The 3rd set they agreed to play race to 13...again, ARcher won 13-7. If anyone knows specific details, please share. Last I heard they were playing for 30K each set!!??!!??
Corey got his soft break working the second set and beat him 20 to 16 and had Johnny 19 to 10 at one time. I believe Corey put 5 together at one time.
A brief argument about Corey breaking to soft and finally they played one more set to 13 and Corey could keep breaking any way he wanted. The score was pretty close 3 to 3 and then Johnny put 7 or 8 pack on him and won 13 to 4.
I will not comment on how much they were betting. It was enough to keep thier attention for sure....but they both played at a really nice pace......No Slow play.
The whole match was played on a freshly covered Diamond Pro. The 5 hours of Pool was recorded and the owner of that pool room will be saling copies of this tape. Really great shooting the second and third set. You can email DoodlesBilliards@aol.com to get a copy.
I don't think there is any problem discussing the amount played for. Corey had no problem telling quite a few of us in park Avenue Friday night. At that point it was said that they were playing for either 20K or 30K. That's what was on the books then, but I'm not sure what they ended up playing for!!
