I was a young kid in the Navy in 1966, and bought my first cue from a guy who was just getting started. He set up shop in a back room of the "Arcade", which was a nice poolhall in downtown San Diego. This was his first cue, and he let me have it for $18. I played with it for a few years, then gave up the game until recently. It's 57", just over 17 oz, and the shaft is 11.4 mm. I call it my "toothpick". The shaft is pretty whippy, but the deflection is similar to that of a Predator.
The guys at DannyK's kept kidding me about getting a "real cue", so I ordered this 62" Viking. By the time I added the extra length butt and shaft and the special joint, it topped out at $530. It's a very nice hitting cue, but it has more deflection than my toothpick. Need more table time.
