Joining the USBA

I'm really interested in joining the USBA but since I'm international what benefits do I really get out of it other than the satisfaction that I'm helping support what everyone else is doing? Would I get the initial members packet with the patch, stickers, DVD etc? I know 50 bucks is a large fee for a patch but that is definitely one thing I would want to have for my tournament vest here in Japan. Someone fill me in, please.

Good Question, Mully. Since Both the USBA President and Secretary/Treasurer are AZ Member. I leave that question to be answer by them, as I been asking about creating an Association Membership.
 
Yes, Mullyman, you will receive a patch. And other things too. Please see the list of benefits at http://www.usba.net/join.asp Some of the benefits will not be available to you just because you do not live in the U.S. (for example, discounts at participating rooms), but most will be.

I do hope you join, both for the benefits that will be available to you and to support the USBA's efforts to promote and develop the carom game.

Satisfaction it will have to be....plus the patch of course....even the Stones couldn't get any satisfaction and here it will only cost you $50:eek:

Dennis, or Bruce, I went to pay the membership fee but the only thing I can find is a renewal form. What's the way to go about it?

Yeah, see, I've already done the free registration to the site so the only option I'm getting is the "Renew your membership" button. Should I just go ahead and do that or what? I logged out and got the one you posted but when I fill out the form it tells me that my address is already listed as a member and won't let me proceed to payment.

You are correct, you have found a flaw in the system!

If you register without joining right away, the only option given is to renew.

I suggest that for now, you re-register which will give us 2 different records of you, but I will delete the old one. From there, you can become a "new" member and also receive your free CaromTV video-on-demand as well as your membership package which will be mailed to you (God, how much is the postage to Japan!!!).

If this does NOT work please let me know right away!

Jim, why don't you go ahead and delete my current membership and then I will re-join when I get word from you. As it stands right now I'm already registered and it won't allow me to register again using the same email address.

Hey, Mully, where are you in Japan? I think you said once, but I forget. I'm thinking of taking a trip to Tokyo in May, never been before. I'd like to play some billiards over there, might have to get some info from you.
 
I'm in Shizuoka. About an hour south of Tokyo. Yeah, I don't know much about the Tokyo area but I'll try to help you out if I can.
