JOINT and FINISH QUESTION?

OK guys .....here is my next question. I see on some of the billiard supply sites they sale a pvc product for joint materials.....so can just pvc be used? I have been practicing some joint work on some old messed up shafts , and I have been using pvc pipe to make the joints out of, I know it prolly cant be used but , is it possible? I know if it gets hot it melts real quick LOL and burns like the dickens ...I didnt think anything could make my fingers as sore as laying brick.....but my hands are so sore it hurts to type

Also what kinda of finish do I need to use to finish cues? Automotive clearcoat or what? I have heard you guys talk about using crazy or super glue , but I really dont think I will be able to do anything like that.

So can someone or several somones give me their opinion on what kind of finsh product to use....preferably the easiest to start with and then kinda let me know which finishes get harder to do?

THANKS GUYS I REALLY DO APPRECIATE ALL THE HELP!!!

SO ....no one else has any info for me? Did I offend you guys or something, I was getting some advice and all of a sudden it stopped dead. Did I do or say something, or is it that you just dont want to give up those kind of secrets? If it is the latter thats fine, I just dont want you guys not to answer because of something I did or said...OK.

If you can , answer though, you dont have to give me your secrets, just the advice of a good product, that doesnt have alot of huge drawbacks, or pitfalls , and compared to other finishes. But like I said if it is the secret thing, and you dont want anyone to know your products thats fine, I wasnt trying to pry into that.....but if you can help it would be greatly appreciated. :D

ALSO there have been a few people help me behind the scenes , and offer even more help , and I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL....I wont name you ( unless you want me to :D ) but you know who you are and I cant thank you enuff...the advice that you guys have given me , has been very valuable to me, and helped me so much........SO THANKS AGAIN GUYS :) :) :)

forget superglue except to put tips on...LOLz...If you're referring to MP Ivory...I'm using some on my cues that I've been praticing on making...it seems pretty hard for what it is, harder than PVC...as for finish goes I'm still experimenting myself...

Just a thought, the blue book lists that infomation from many of the top cue makers, imron for a richard chuddy, or catalyzed urathane for Mr. Eenie Martinez, etc.. It may give you some insight from the folks who shared with them already... Just a thought (didnt say it was a goood one!)

Thank You...I think. Questons about finishes have to be answered by 1st warning the questioner about the DANGERS of the finishes, used today. They can not be sprayed in an apartment, spare room or attic. Even a garage has to be really heavilly ventalated to provide SAFETY, for the sprayer. I personally have a history of airbrushing murals on vans & motorcycles & clearcoating them. I use the Du Pont Chrhomaclear 5600s. I have tryed 1/2 a dozen others & for me, this suites my low production methods. I make around 50 Qs a year & this finish gives me a great , deep look. It's easy to mix & spray. E-MAIL me for more tips...JER
