Joint??? Apologies

My SINCEREST APOLOGIES if this is in the wrong area. If so… please suggest! I started my SERIOUS playing with a McDermott 3/8-10 joint, LOVED IT!!!! Now I’m used to a Shon 5/16-14 steel joint. I’m interested in going to a Revo CF shaft. But, my question is……. Looking for a butt…. NO $ limit! Ok… maybe about $2k limit for a butt. But my question is….. What joint type should I specify if I wanted a feel BETWEEN the McD 3/8-10 and Schon 5/16-14? I like the soft feet of the McD, but also like the sure footedness and feeling of the Schon. lol. I KNOW there is no such thing as a “perfect combo for everyone”! However…. I’m looking for opinions between uni-loc and radial. Radial is softer feeling????

Yes Radial will be softer feeling more like the McDermott. It is just up to you on which style joint gives you the most benefit.

It depends on the individual cue.
Some uni loc and radial joints have a steel joint. It's not a full stainless joint as in a 5/8" thread holding it on. It's much lighter. Same as Schon. Thier joint is also not a 5/8" base thread.
Schon uses an -A- joint splice above the wrap.
Some Predators do and some don't.
Cue by cue is my best answer

You don't mention anything about the shafts you used, where they similar?
A SS joint collar has a different feel and sound, but most of what you feel is due to the tip, ferrule, shaft material and taper. I doubt you'll feel the difference between 3/8-10 and Radial.
Just pick the joint pin you prefer and tell the cue maker what woods, dimensions etc you want your cue. I recommend Radial or 3/8-10 flat bottom pin
