Joint Collar came loose

I have a cue that I love and it's Stainless Steel Joint Collar has come loose.

It turns about an 1/8th of an inch-left to right. Turning it right ( clockwise ) tightens it up.

My question is:

Can I have a cue repair person handle this fix or should I send it back to the original maker. I'm the second owner of this cue so it's going to cost me a fair amount for the original maker to fix it.

I was told by a cue collector that if a repair guy puts to much glue in the joint it could break at the joint amongst other things.

Would appreciate your thoughts.

Thanks - Tommyd1

It's a pretty simple repair. You'll want to make sure whoever does it has a real lathe, someone with just a little repair setup might not be able to reface the joint accurately once it's re-glued.
Too much glue will NOT cause the joint to break, but might keep your shaft from screwing back into a pilot. (If it has one)
Contact the maker of the cue, you might be surprised.

its just a minor repair, you can bring it a repair man. but make sure he has a complete tools specially the lathe so he can align it perfectly to original.
Another option is to send it to the original cuemaker, in this your anxiety will relieved and you will be more confident to the result of your cue.
