The finished shafts will very in size but on +- .002" or so. It would be impossible for any store to cary a wide varity of sizes to fit every cue out there. If you need one bigger or smaller concider having one made from what is called a partial that is basically an unfinished shaft. Most any cue maker or good repair person should be able to do this as long as you don't have an off the wall cue.

good luck Jim.

It depends on the pin type in your handle.
After-market shaft manufacturers have a std. they go by to
cater to the majority of cue owners for a particular thread type.

I could run off numbers for you all day or we could simplify this by you stating what brand & pin type cue you're thinking about.
That way I can tell you what joint dia. on the shaft that you can expect.

I'm just looking for the standard size(s) that Predator and Tiger use for the common 3/8x10 and 5/16x14 threads.

Let me rephrase my question a bit... :)

If a guy walks up to me in a poolhall and offers me a standard "off-the-shelf" Predator or Tiger shaft, with either a 3/8x10 or 5/16x14 joint (black collar), what joint size(s) should I expect?

Penguin,
I know Predator and OB. Tiger no doubt will be similar.
3/8x10 (& Radial) will be .850(+/-). 5/16x14 will be .840(+/-).
