Joint Identification

A friend of mine sent this picture asking if I could identify the joint. Can anyone help with this? (cuemaker too if u know)

looks Asian to me, but im a newb.

Have your friend meassure the diameter and count the threads. I guess that would help. It is a piloted joint. I haven't seen that top of a pin before on a pool cue, but my best guess (if any standard pin is used) is that it is a modified 5/16-14 piloted joint.
