ok, forgive my ignorance here, but i have a simple question about the pins that are used in the joints.

what exactly does it mean when they say, for example, its a 3/8 x 10 pin? i assume it means the pin is 3/8" inches in diameter? but what does the number 10 refer to?

or a 5/16 x 14 pin?

i am getting conflicting ideas up here, just want some of you maestros out there to clarify for me.

thanks,
DCP

You are correct, the first number is the diameter. The second number is the number of threads per inch. So a 3/8 X 10 is 3/8" diameter with 10 threads per inch.

I'm still waiting for someone to come out with a 7/16 inch self-tapping joint pin so I can play with any shaft I want on a moment's notice. ;)
