Joint pin size change on a shaft

I am a big fan of the 314-2 shaft and taper. Long story short my original that I had made for my cue with matching ring work is out of service. My cue has a 5/16-14 pin. I have found some new condition 314-2 shafts, but they are in the uniloc pin. Can a cue maker alter these to fit my pin size and change the collar ring work to match my cue without altering the way it plays? If so who would be your recommendation to do the work?

Much easier to work with a partial, but it can be done. 314/2 has been out of production for years now, your better off going with a 314/3 partial. IMO it's a better shaft in every way.

Just ask any competent cuemaker to tap thru the uni-loc to have dual pins. and change the collar.

Hi Kim
Why in your opinion is it a better shaft?

Hi Kim
Why in your opinion is it a better shaft?
It's not as fragile as 314/2. The 0.5mm diameter increase, the new ferrule material and the new tennon design all seems to make a more durable shaft. I haven't seen as much de-lamination problems as with 314/2.
