joint work

i have a schon, although i love all the cue plays i almost cant stand the sight of stainless joints any longer, so my question is would a cue builder(speak up if interested) be able to turn down the diameter of the joint and slip a black phenolic or other hard plastic over it?

i know the cue would prob have to be refinished in this process so if you have any ideas and would be willing to work on my cue then shoot me a pm or post in here regarding price/suggestions.
