Josey Sneaky vs. Custom

I guess you could always buy one of the popular "low deflection" shafts for your current cue?

That's kinda disappointing to hear.

Keith's first sentence on his cues page is, "All of my cues are known for their solid hit with very little deflection."

Reviewers on this site say this is the case some even stating they needed no adjustment time from their previous predator shafts.

I do enjoy the feel of my current player, a nice Pechauer, but would prefer it had a bit less deflection to account for. Having a stiff solid cue
with minimal deflection seems like a dream, and perhaps that's all it is.

Am I going in the wrong direction here; is there something else I should be considering?

I played for several years with Predator cues - the last one being a Blak 4 - with a 314-2 shaft. Much to my surprise, I had virtually no adjustment, or "break-in" period, with my Josey.

I disagree with the reviewer's assessment....and wanted to point out that every one of his cues sports a Predator Z2 shaft...which lends itself to being a bit biased.

I stand on my statement that my TT shaft has very little deflection. The standard shaft may have slighty more deflection, but not as much as others that I have played with.

It is simply not the Joseys way to make BS statements. Jay Halfert and Clint Putnam immediately come to mind as pros who have been Josey fans...you might try PMing them to get their true opinion.

I think my Josey sneaky is the best player out of all the cues I have or owned.
It's got a matching 314. It's a true sneaky with no inlays or even joint collar.

The best thing is that I picked it up from a friend of mine who had too many cues for 150 CND, back when 1 USD = 65 CND.

Well, i have a Josey sneaky, a John Davis full splice finished by Josey and a custom Josey, all made to my specs and they all hit very similarly.

The only Josey i have which hits differently, is a jump cue. :) lol..
