JOSS CUE FAMILY TREE/INDEX BY SERIAL #

Biloxi Boy

Man With A Golden Arm
Does an Index to Joss Cues by Serial # exist? With photographs? With written descriptions? I would love to find out where my Joss is in the family of Joss Cues. I would love to know more about my Joss's "brothers and sisters" but as far as I know, there is no such resource. Did Joss make "runs" of similar designs or was it just a scatter shot? Any ideas?

Only JOSS can tell you these things. They lost their archives a few yrs ago when switching to a new server. Call them.

I posted on this before.
New information on many subjects is found every day. One can always hope . . .

Not much of a resource but this what I have. No serial numbers, descriptions or anything. Just model numbers and pics on a few.

no offense brother but that ain't gonna do anything as far as what the op is seeking. I can't make this any simpler: CONTACT JOSS DIRECT. ALL their digital archives got lost, the only hope is that Stephen: A. recognizes the model or B. They have old paper catalogs left on hand. MIGHT try posting pics on here and see if any AZ'rs know the cue.

What you're describing is a JOSS Flyer or CATALOG. There is a JOSS CATALOG thread somewhere (search function) that you might find useful. If you post a full photo of your cue, we may also be able to help.

Serial numbers are unique to the cue made. My cue started as an OP42. I had the rings from a 10-01 with steel joints . The Model number wouldn't do any good. Op42c20 is the official model number assigned from Dan. Only google results are for my cue. The current 20-42 listed on the website after my cue was built, is the closet you will find. Mine has the old time stitch ring joints. There are plenty of brochures with model numbers listed from the 80s up to 2002 in the cue and case gallery. There's also an album on social media with 70 or so photos.

My Joss's butt is right here -- my avatar.
The Serial Number is E01002. (I understand the "E" indicates an approximate manufacture year of 2004.)

From my SN, Dan Janes was able to tell me that the cue's "company or individual"
was "Valley Forge 2005". The "model" was "custom". Finish date was 3/14/2005*. It was 19 oz. with 13.25 mm shaft. 2005 Super Expo was March 17 to 20 . . .

Mr. Janes was also able to opine that, although he could not be certain, the facts that the cue was "custom" and sold at Valley Forge caused him to conclude that the cue is "only one of its kind".

So, at least as to some cues, Joss can provide the type of data shown above.
