Joss Cue - What do you think about them

I own a joss....great cue...but the quality of the inlay work can be spotty. and i cant stand the way they build their points .You'll want to buy in person so you can cherry pick. They all basically hit and play the same. Or just get a plain jane Joss and your set

Also Dan Janes is a stand up guy. Joss us a super solid cue but. And for the price they sell...they are winners

dont know anything about the newer ones. had many of the old ones and still have one of billy,s best. but most all were great when billy and danny were together. after they split bill's cues were most always great cues.
danny's cues were all nice work for sure but the hit was about half of them good and half maybe average.

the ones with the house cue plain points were rarely great hitting cues from both of them as they were strictly for the budget people and i guess the effort to be perfect was passed on. and rightly so, you get what you pay for. none of those would i ever buy.

My league playing cue is a “white letter” Joss merry widow from 1985 that I have owned since then. One of my teammates recently bought a new Joss that looks like Cadillac J’s without the diamond inlays. I hit a few balls with it and was quite impressed. I would not consider Joss as an investment. But IMO, it is a well built cue that is worth considering if you like the way they play.

I agree that the most desirable cues were built before about 1980. You’ll pay a premium for one.
