Joss Cue with Ivory Joint

I bought a Joss cue from a guy last night that has (what seems to be) an ivory joint. It may be white phenolic, but it looks ivory. On the Joss website, they say that they only use steel joints now. This seems like a fairly new Joss with the logo on the buttcap. I know that Joss puts ivory joints in some of their more expensive cues, but I haven't seen one in a medium end cue.

I was curious if anyone had seen a Joss medium end cue with an ivory or phenolic joint.

Thanks.

All the ivory I've seen (which isn't much) is easily distinguishable from plastic. It looks like it has a grain to it.

You might have an older Joss cue and they did use ivory then. They have had the logo on engraved on the stainless joint for awhile now.

If Joss is in block letters on the buttcap, that's the really old logo. If it's in gold, it's probably from the 1980's, if it's got a picture of the hand forming a bridge, probably 1990's. If you mail pictures to Joss, they will answer you pretty quickly with some data on your cue. They do not accept photo's by e-mail for identification.

I have a Joss cue with 4 points, mother of pearl, and on the butt I have 5 mother of pearl diamonds inside of a V shaped brown grained wood, with the V shape upside down also. Someone gave me the cue and said he paid $1,500 for it, but I don't know if thats the truth or not. He has many cues, including a Balabushka, which he says he paid nearly $20,000 for. Again, the truth is unknown. If anyone would like to trade a Schon for this Joss, let me know and I will get a pic of it on here for all to see. Also, it looks to be from the 1990's, if the picture of the bridged hand in the logo is correct information.
