Joss Customer Service

“The emails back from the company said about two weeks. Stephen said about three weeks.”

This is a pretty standard challenge with comprehension.
You are the person that goes to a restaurant and the hostess tells you the wait is 30-45 min.
That means their expectation is the maximum, be pleasantly surprised if it’s sooner, but you only hear the minimum and, are standing there asking why you haven’t been seated yet at minute 31.

Shipping is going to take another week after it leaves so either way you’ve still got awhile to go.

First off, Stephen is the company.
It was a family business comprised of Dan, his wife, and his son.
Stephen, his son is doing everything right now.

Cancel everything.
Sounds like you have a severe case of instan gratification.

When I bid jobs I used to say (ex)between $3500 and $4200. Not once did anyone expect to pay $4200. It was always I thought you said $3500? Now I just say about $4500 and always come in less.

Very surprised you didn't give a firm quote on a bid

Shipping? They never mentioned shipping taking time too.

What outrageous complaint?????

When did I ever complain?????

All I ever did was ask.

No wonder so many people have left this Forum over the years.
YOU: "I've sent two emails to Joss asking the status and have heard nothing back...
Anything going on at Joss that I don't know about?...
But when I was thinking about ordering and asking questions, and then when I placed the order the emails were swift and prompt. Now I haven't heard anything for three days...
Tomorrow we are into the 3rd week. I am just trying to make sure we get it right the first time...
Some people need to get real, or get a life, or both."

These, in my mind are all complaints. Nitty ones for sure, but nonetheless complaints. (Their "nittiness", especially in reference to Joss, is what qualifies them as "outrageous" in my book.) I refuse to parse and explain each one. We are all capable of judging their tenor for ourselves. But I must note, I only see a single "?".

The op has been on here over 20yrs it looks like yet he's acting surprised that a cue didn't show exactly on time. WTF, is this his first cue purchase or what?? Seriously i'm pretty impatient myself but i learned LONG ago that cuemaker's clocks run in their own timezone. Hell, if he's so butthurt call 'em and demand a refund.
Definitely.

I'd rather wait a bit longer and have the cuemaker making the cue when he was inspired to do so, or at least in the right headspace. Doing quality work takes a different mindset than just churning things off the assembly line.

Cuemaker time is almost like dog years. If they give you a time frame, multiply it by 7 and be thankful if you are blessed enough to receive it sooner.

I'm a big fan of joss.
As I have said, I own one Joss custom made by Dan. He was one month late on his original time frame estimate.
I'm having one built by Steve currently.
I do expect his time frame to be close to what he tells me.

That is a gorgeous cue 🙌🏻

That is a gorgeous cue 🙌🏻

Thank you.
I like what I call elegant simplicity.

Finalized a cue with Steve Janes at Joss about an hour ago. I like what Steve calls pointy points.

Sort of a Bushka tribute box cue using fall colors, red, orange, tans as inlays with cut diamonds and dots in the boxes. Using abalone for the cut diamonds and dots. Birdseye maple and ebony in the but. Wrap will be an embossed leather leaving the color of the wrap up to him.

Steve always picks up on the first or second ring.

You finalized a cue? Assume that means he is starting the cuemaking process for you, correct?

And I am sorry. Plus I hate to tell you this. But I did ask him in my last email if he could make me a cue from Ebony and Bone. So, if he is able to, that means your cue will have to wait while he makes mine. You don't mind waiting an extra 6 months to a year, do you?

😆😆😆

Correct, he is starting the process.
Enjoy the build of your cue.
Hahahaha.

Am i the only one, who is wondering how you can order a custom cue in a 3 week dead line?
they have ones, that are almost finished? 5 to 6 months i get. Which is standard in my experience.

Ask about the Joss warranty too.
Last I heard if you chalk the cue it voids any warranty.
Read the warranty carefully ~
