Joss "Limited Series" cues

Greetings all. Joss is selling "limited series" cues on a couple pool supply warehouses. They're priced at $267.75 which is considerably lower than their norm. They aren't particularly attractive, but I've never played with a Joss and at that price it might be something to try. Has anyone played with one or know anything about corners they might have cut in construction to reach that price point? Thanks.

EDIT: I just went and looked at some. Yes, they aren't all so great looking but a couple are nice. I think I should grab one for my daughter.

Cut corners? Call Joss and ask them about that.

They are basic no wrap cues. It's a Joss. The cues start at $450 on their web site, so they aren't selling these.

All their cues are built on the same threaded stepped core, with the butt cap and joint collar screwed on. If you think they might not be building the cues the same way I think you should ask Joss.

Personally, I wouldn't doubt the cues. But if you do, why not ask Joss directly in addition to getting opinions?

Anything is possible. They could indeed be producing cues without their standard production. I would definitely want to know it myself if that were the case.

I can't say I ever touched one of the "limited series". I do have a few modern Joss cues and they all feel and play exactly the same way, likely because of the consistent construction method. This is their core:

Greetings all. I just received my JOS213 "limited series" cue ordered from Pool Dawg and I'm impressed. For a price of $267.75 I wasn't sure how Joss could hit that price point without cutting corners, but I was assured they meet all the usual Joss quality standards. I upgraded to their HP natural low deflection maple shaft and still kept the total under $400. I was never a fan of Joss; standard shaft is always 13mm which is a little large, and the standard tip is too hard for me, but what I received is solid but slightly softer than their usual, with a great feel in my hands and a finish like glass. A great player for a bargain price.

Good to hear.

Enjoy it.
