~having just sold a joss m-003 on ebay I felt compelled to answer~
I'd leave the tip alone, they play pretty good until they get real thin. Joss makes a nice production cue, one of the best for the money in my opinion. I play with a schon mostly, but thats just because I wanted something different. In the process of getting a dz sneaky which I'm hoping hits great.
Think the m3 will be a small run cue, haven't seen them on any other retail site other than a few ebay sellers. Beautiful cue that should hold its value well.
