Joss Thor Hammer Break Cue Or Viking Crush Break Cue

I just started playing pool again after not playing for many years. I used to use a Predator bk2 break cue. So I am looking at the Joss Thor Hammer break cue or the Viking Crush break cue. Has anyone here played with both or have any opinions on them?

I use a Viking Crush. It works for me better than anything I have tried. I like the phenolic tip. I believe technique is more important than the break cue you use. No break cue works magic.

The BK2 is still great, if you still have it then just use it.
With the Joss and Viking you are paying for the brand. There are a lot of cheaper options that will be just as good if not better.
If I was in the market for a new break cue, then a low deflection carbon fiber shaft would have been the only option I would consider.

Yeah, unfortunately I sold that bk2 many years ago. I have thought about carbon fiber, but I am not sure if I want to go that route. Does carbon fiber glide through your fingers fine or does it require wearing a glove?

When I had a cue with a carbon shaft I didn't wear a glove while playing , yes it slid through my bridge hand quite well , I did keep a clean towel handy to wipe if down if I felt anything that didn't feel quite right .

I agree the predator BK2 is a great break cue ! I've thought about possibly selling mine but I haven't made up my mine . I know if I did sell it I'd regret it after it was gone !

No need for glove if it’s just for breaking

since it doesn't matter what cue you break with as its all about the speed you can propel it and its weight.

so use the thor hammer one as it sounds more scary.

The Joss break cue is on the more affordable side of American made break cues

Yeah, I just ordered the Joss thor hammer break cue and had them install a kamui sai control break tip. Should have it next week. Hopefully I will like it. If not I might either order the viking crush or maybe try the j flowers break cue.
