Later on came the Radial. info:https://forums.azbilliards.com/thre...enticate-a-joss-west-these-days.568822/page-2 post 23.I have a JW shaft listed & its a 5/16 18 pin. He stopped in Tulsa to see some friends, and play a lil 1p, around 88-89ish. He said he was headed down to check on shop space. So i'm gonna say late 80's to mid 90's then he headed west to N. Mex. I've looked at this before and exact dates are tough. When was Bill making cues out of Austin TX, I know it was only for a couple of years but trying to nail down the dates has been a nightmare!
Getting ready to buy an all ebony and ivory JW that the owner met Bill in Houston playing pool and he offered to make him a cue so he drove up to Austin took Bill out to lunch they talked about what he wanted and eight months later got a phone call to come pick up his cue.He stopped in Tulsa to see some friends, and play a lil 1p, around 88-89ish. Next time he tried to get a hold of him he had moved again so yeah that period in Austin had to be brief.
But damn the cue is nice!
Yeah that cue is light years ahead of the one I'm looking at. But mine is about 5k cheaper!Check out this ebony box cue from '88. sick. http://www.recollectioncues.com/josswest88boxcue.html likely its an Austin cue.
1970 would still be a 'JOSS' cue. Bill didn't leave to start JW til '72.around 1970 but still would make one reluctantly if asked so you cant date a cue by that accurately.
