Hello fellow AZ'rs, my question for the cue makers is....can the weight bolt be changed on a josswest cue? I purchased a 1988 Stroud cue and it's a bit heavy for me. I managed to remove the rubber bumper and the weight bolt has a slot for LARGE flat head screwdriver. I tried to loosen it but it didnt budge at all. So I don't want to cause any damage to it or the butt cap. I'm not sure if its glued in place or just stubborn after 32 years of not moving. And if it can be changed, where would I get another lighter bolt? Thanks in advance for any help. You cam pm me if you want or post to the thread for all to see. Take care folks, Justin.

It could be something simple like putting a large straight head screwdriver in a vice so you have 2 hands to free the bolt with or using an easy out and heat up the end of it.
Best place to start is with someone who has experience in this.

Thanks for the input Michael, unfortunately for me theres no one local to take it to. I'll try the vice idea once I can locate a vice! Been meaning to pick one up.

Ok. If you wind up using an easy out and heating the end of it to transfer heat to the weight bolt. Chances

Ok. When you do get it out and order a replacement 3/8x16 weight bolt. Make sure you also get the allen cap screw that holds the bumper in place. The one you have might fit but it may not.
