JB case....I did it. I had a set of loose Joint Protectors in the case. They slipped a little bit into one of the butt chambers. So I forget to remove them...insert the butt into the chamber and push the JP's to the case bottom. What should I do. Should buy a another JB case. Buy another cue. hehe

Contact John barton/jbcases here on the board.
This type of thing is common.

Cheers.

I usually place the JP's in the small JP pocket.....but no...was too time consuming.
zip-unzip-zip 10 seconds.

If you're willing to perhaps damage JP finish, there is an automotive tool that might work. Don't know the actual name, I just call it a grabber. Mechanics use 'em to retrieve small dropped nuts & bolts from tight places. Best description I can come up with is a long tube, kind of like a lawn mower throttle cable with a thumb plunger on one end. Push the plunger, and a "grabber" emerges...spring steel, 4 claws that work kind of like the claws on a stuffed animal vending machine game. Release the plunger, the claws "grab" and grip. Might take several tries, but would probably work.

Ask at any auto parts store, a good parts counter guy would know what I'm talking about.

You maybe able to fit a golf club tube or PVC pipe or something down the sleeve, which should make removal pretty easy...

I had this problem a few times, what I did was emptying the case, hold it up side down, and shake hard, vertically and horizontally, the jp came out

I have that tool. Bought it at Horror Freight. I use it mostly for taking things out of the garbage disposal. Tool is not long enough. Claw is not wide enough. I could most likely leave the JP's there...The butt still goes down. They are Predator JP's. Less than $15 for both. They are the best cheapies I have.

hold it upside down and keep hitting the bottom till they come down. if in way too tight drill a small hole in the bottom and insert something like an ice pick and push them up.

Was thinking about a stick with gum (kidding)...but got to thinking. Will use a 1/2 dowel and put a small piece of very aggressive double sided tape on it. Should work.

I have an old Whitten case I bought from a friend, the zippers weren't perfect but it was only like 50 bucks, for a decent looking Whitten 2x4.
Well little did I know but one shaft tube was blocked about 3/4 of the way down and then I knew why it was only 50 bucks.

Last week I tried to get a shaft out that was stuck at the jp, at the top of the tube.
I took everything out, turned the case upside down, and shook the crap out of it.
After a while an old set of white stained wood jps screwed yrs got in there, but I now have a really nice Whitten 2x4 to use for storage.
A tube blocked by jps is a real pain in the ass.
I would turn the case upside down and shake the crap out of it until the jps come flying out.

How old is the case? If it's a recent purchase it might have a removeable interior. If not then empty and tie the lid open. then using a pillow tap it gently to get the jps to come up - tap harder progressively until they do. You can then put your fingers in an adjacent hole and massage them out if they don't come out by themselves.

Alternatively PM me on FB and I can show you what to do via video chat.

You're just in the wrong part of the world. Weird stuff like that happens down there all of the time. If you were up here things like that wouldn't happen.

Never mind where I am right now....... You have a few months to get in shape. OnePocketMatters in Montco lives. The stakes go up this season.
Do you play One Ball in the corner? That was our Sat afternoon game at the Cue on Cottman St.

Got it. Did find it's way out. Thank you.

Case is a new 4/8 Hybrid I bought from you at 2016 SBE. It is my favorite case as far as function and looks go. It's my DC(daily carry). Your cases are as 1st class as it gets. And thanks for the quick reply here.
Thank's everyone for the replies

Pick up tool with retractable claw from EBay is about $9.

If the male end of your JP has a metal thread, you also might try an extendable automotive magnet. Just a thought. I use them at home, for various projects. They are very cheap, (Amazon) and really handy.
Good luck.

The JP is plastic..... but good thinking. I do have extendable magnets for other uses.

I believe the pickup tool others referred to is called a set of mechanical fingers. I've used a 36 in one to retrieve a tip pick from a predator tube case and it took about 5 seconds. Good luck.

Mine was not long enough and the claw not wide enough to retrieve the JP's but it's a must have tool in general.
