My 9 yr old plays in a tues. night league. He has no problems playing adults. You might want to encourage your pool room to start league nights at an earlier time so that you can finish by 9pm. Let them know it might just bring them more valuable business. Golf leagues start at 4pm and 5pm, why not pool leagues starting at least by 6:30pm.

Good luck Curtis and glad you are enthusiastic about pool.

weekly amateur tournaments are always good too. There's a thursday 8 ball tourney where i'm at that has a lot of high schoolers and the like. There's a rookie division, which is bar rules, best two out of three. Also a handicaped intermediate, ranked 3-7, which has full ball in hand rules and the like. Rookies is like 10 to play and intermediate is 15. This is how i really started playing serious. I began in the rookies, moved up to intermediates and won the first week as a 3. Now i'm up to a 5, and probably soon to be a 6 when i get back from school.

They start at 7, have players from 14-60, and all different levels. It's a great time and a good chance to play people you normally wouldnt play.

jr playing in tournaments

search out the Viking tour events jr's 18 and under i believe play for free.

Keep looking and keep on shooting. Your a good player and deserve the chance to play in any tournament. I'll keep looking too. See you in a couple weeks at Alton.

Curtis is a very good player that has not been playing that long. Only time and experience can improve his game, IMO.

I've got some things in the works for JR players in the St. Louis area, we'll talk in Alton in a couple of weeks Curtis.
