I hate to out the guy for those that don't know him, But I expect Chen
will do very well.
The only thing that might be a negative factor for him is lack of experience
in a major tournament such a the U.S. open.
Chen has made a habit of beating players such as Jeremy Jones, Charlie Bryant, Gabe Owen, and many other strong players on the texas circuit.
After several meetings he has a winning record against J.J.
For those that have not seen him play you will be astonished with the
confidence he has playing the top pros, often it looks like he is the one
that is the pro.
Hope he does well, he's a very nice guy.

I've watched him play on several occasions and I'd have to agree. He is raising eyebrows down here. He won the last Houston Open (undefeated) beating Little Jon Macias in the finals and he's been laying waste to competitors on the Fast Eddies Tour all year long. Very quiet and very deadly.

how old is he?

I'm guessing in his 20's... probably mid 20's, but not sure...

What I am sure of is the kid has game. I've played him on the Midwest 9-Ball tour and didn't like it at all. I watched him in Padre Island last January and was shocked that he didn't win. I think he took second in a hill hill match with David G.

Someone may know the year, as I can't remember, but Chen was the Tiawan National 8-Ball Champion in the past few years. I'm thinking 2002, but not sure on that. Regardless, the kid is a very strong player.

Bob

Chen is an awesome player, he continually beats up on the pros that play on the Fast Eddies tour...not to mention us little guys too. I hope he does very well in the Open. I kind of agree that he doesn't have the experience in a very big tournament like this, but his confidence against the pros is incredible.

go !Chen
