*and this is all I know* Someone else can take it from here! lol

I left during her match w Hsin- She was up 5-0 but not playing particularly well- She must have turned it up though to beat Karen and Allison on the same day. A new face in the winner's circle but still no American since 2000 i think

Congratulations to Julie Kelly. Great to see a new face in the winner's circle.

Nostroke, since you were there at the event, I'd love to hear about some of the matches you saw while you were there. The only match most of us on the forum have heard much about is Allison Fisher vs Kelly Fisher.

Nostroke, I think Jeanette Lee won the 2001 BCA Open, but maybe it was in 2000. I'm just not sure.

Of course, Jeanette also won the 2003 Challenge of Champions. Though it's not a WPBA event, it is an event restricted to WPBA pros and for which entry is earned based on performace in WPBA events.

Speaking of the Challenge of Champions, are you going? I usually check it out. It's generally in early November at Mohegan Sun.

If at all possible i will go SJM but im thinking we already missed it? Wasnt it very early this year? Plus ive got a lot of trips planned and they may conflict, We shall see.
You are probably right about Jeanette- it likely was 2001 and i wasnt counting the C of C or the World Games etc.

BTW-Ga Young lost hill hill to Allison and Gerda. I think she lost two Hill Hills in Miss also- to Karen and Allison im pretty sure. She was very disappointed and vows to do it right in New Mexico this month.

I saw the Fisher/Fisher match. What a huge difference for Kelly psychologically. From a near route of the clear Number one in her first WPBA event to a simple loss.

Gerda lost on the Hill to Helena by making and scratching on the 9 and Vivian missed a simple side pocket shot hill hilll vs Julie (she rolled past her intended corner pocket position) She rolled the 9 towards the side pocket fairly slow and it looked good but just brushed the first point which sent it softly into the second point and out in front of the pocket.

Jen missed at least one early 9 ball vs Monica and blew another simple out to keep Monica in it. She took a break and seemed to cheerfully put the mistakes behind her and was in good frame of mind when she went back to the table and finished Monica off. I didn't see it after 5-5 or so but there was apparently some rack tossing and poor sportsmanship on the part of MW.

Thats all i can think of now-maybe more tomorow.

I'm sure most realize that although this was Julie's first WPBA title, she did win the WPA World Championships in 2000. Guess where she did it? Did you say Quebec? Well, you're right. Julie seems to do her best work on Canadian soil!
