Seriously? A mad face? Sheesh. A bit demanding, are we?

I use a cue for breaking and a cue for jumping. I never used a jump break cue. I like my break cue and I like my jump cue so I see no reason to change.

To me, it doesn't matter what any player uses as long as the cue does the job for you. If you decide on a jump/break cue, make sure you can do both with the cue.

im a one pocket player starting to play 9 ball again
in my day if you couldnt do it with your playing cue you couldnt do it
also we played push out
now im trying to "modernize"
trying to get advice as far as what to buy
specifically and in general

thanks for your responce

If you can find a good j/b, that's the way to go. But, the quest could be long and expensive:rolleyes: I've got a few... j/b's, breakers, jumpers:groucho: Right now I'm using a Gilbert J/B butt with a purple-heart shaft I had made for it. It does both fairly well, still on the "quest" though.

There are so many Jumpers, Breakers and even so Break n Jumps on the way.

A pure Breakcue and a pure Jumper is always a good Choice- but the most are just choosing the *cheaper* way and buy a Break n Jump combination.

ON choosing a Breakcue i prefer the same weight, hard leather tip (more control in my opinion) and 13mm diameter.
If it s about a jumper it s really the best to test some cues my friend. There is such a big arsenal on the market. The extremly light Jumpers like the Predator for example. some love em some hate them. Then you have ferrules, normal shafts also....- and then the journey goes on with seeing at the tip..........and then it s again about testing.

Noone can say that you would be happy with the choice another player made.

Try out some breakers, some jumpers- and then choose yourself,

good luck ,

Ingo

any experience with lomax jumper or jerico stinger j/b??

The lomax jumper is considered by many to be one of the best jumpers on the market... Every tournament Steve goes to he usually sells out of the Jump cues he brings with him........

Non with Lomax, I have a Stinger(Jerico not the McDermott). It jumps really well but I didn't like the feel of butt when I broke with it. I've got small hands and the butt felt too thick in my grip. Jumped as good as anything I've used though. Shaft warped on me after I had it for a year or so. I actually bought a shaft for it from here, but haven't tried it out yet. Kinda of satisfied with what I'm using now.

Jump Break

I've had a dedicated break stick, jump cue and playing cue. I had to sell most of my stuff and I'm currently getting back to where I want to be with equipment, but this last couple years I have been using a cheap Break/Jump that was under $100 and it breaks great and jumps easily.

If you have the money and room in the case then I'd say get them separate. But if money and/or room in the case is a restraint then there are plenty of Break/Jump cues you can get from $90 - $200.

The tag on a jump break is that it will not do both extremely well.

That said, I have only used a jump break. For me it is a matter of convenience and space in my case.

Mike G. makes a heck of a jump break, I have been using his Sledgehammer JB for years.

Best advice I can offer is to try some out some that folks may have in poolrooms that you frequent.
