How much easier is a jump shot with a phenolic tip than with extra hard leather? What jump break cues are you playing? Recommendations if any.

So much easier...I can spend 20 minutes with you & you'll be able to jump as well as you'll ever need. ;)

Jumping is really simple to accomblish. I jump with both a phenolic and leather tip. The phenolic tip will get you up and over the ball quicker. The leather will allow you to put english on the cue ball. Which may in turn may help you playing safe or postion on your next ball. If you are showing off and lets say shaft jumping, so that you can jump a ball about 1/8 of a inch from your obect ball, leather tip works much better. I feel there are alot of good jump cue / break cues out there. Ranging from the low end for $100 or less to what ever your hearts desires.

I am not an expert jumper by any means. It's not a shot I practice a whole lot.

I use a Varney J/B and it has made my life much easier for jumping and breaking. It may or may not work for you like it does me, who knows. But, I am happy with my purchase. Whichever you choose, I am sure it'll be a good choice for you.

Please feel free to contact me if you would like more information.

Good luck with your search.

I have a Jerico Bocote Stinger and let me tell you, it's literally unfair.

The tip on there and construction makes it so anyone with a decent sense of how to jump can exceed what you can do with a hard leather tip IMHO.

My buddy asked to use it the other night and hadn't used it before, he had a full length jump.

He jumped it all the way to another table ;)
