Jump/Break Cues

Whats out there in the market for jump/break cues besides the advertised production Jump/Break cues? Just trying get some ideas to look into further. I have old Frey J/B with phenolic ferrule/tip but its time for something new (I think).

Is anyone making J/B with separate jump butt instead of standard 2 piece J/B butt?

Feel like I once heard of a league or rule set that would only allow a J/B not a separate jump and break cue or am I going crazy in my old age?

I tried some of the combos before and havn't found one that did both well. I prefer a dedicated Jump cue and break cue.

If I was think Jump/Break I would buy seperate tools, I have a Swiss Army Knife it does something so so.

Yes the little Scissor can Cue a PigTail off a Cigar, but honestly a dedicate tool. A Cigar Cutter does the job better.

Jumps Cues are reasonable, a price point Cue with a Break Tip works better IMHO than a combination Cue.

I assume having dedicated break and dedicated jump could have different tips on them. I am currently breaking good with phenolic but maybe thats way to go. I was thinking the weighting of the butt would come into play so having two butts one for jumping one for breaking would be upgrade from standard J/B cue that you just break down.

I had a McDermott Stinger jump/break with a Samsara tip that did a decent enough job. Like most multifunctional tools though it didn’t excel at either.

I finally broke down and went with dedicated cues for each and only regret that I didn’t do so earlier.

I prefer dedicated Break and Jump cues, but the Samsara J/B is excellent and has a separate jump handle if you prefer.
