People keep talking about this on here and rec. sport. Here is a better solution. Take your phenolic ferrule 1.1" long, drill and tap 1/2 inch deep for a 5/16 X18 thread. The top where the glue relief is drill 1/16 thru for glue relief and then drill 3/16's hole for .200 deep. Turn down a tip and place it in the whole while the epoxy is fresh. Hold it with a live center. Shape the ferrule and inlaid tip. Now you have a (LEGAL) jump / break tip.that can't fall off and it limits your miscues depending on english used. I went with a 3/16's hole because how much the actual tip touches the cue ball.
Results, jumps very easy as a whole cue
More ball spread with less power
Fewer miscues
converts any cue you want to break with.
Actual leather at the point of contact
You can only wear out the tip if you wear out the
ferrule (unlikely)
LEGAL,
Been doing this for about 9 months, results are excellent and no one had to buy another break cue. I converted their existing break cue.
