Jump Break opinion needed

I have been wanting to get a good quality jump break like a Gilbert,Stinger,Mace,Sledgehammer ect...so bad I can taste it.

Then I think get a used $100 McDermott J/B and put a White Diamond or phenolic or canvass resin tip on it and it will be about the same.

Would there be a big difference between the two?

The white diamond will be the key to your jump break cue. JMHO.
