Jump cue

Okay, I should probably post in ask the cue maker, but it seems like a question someone here can answer. Am I correct in assuming that you could buy a jump cue that has the same pin type as your current playing cue and just use that shaft for breaking? If this is the case, why in the hell when you look on eBay for a jump cue they never mention the pin type. It's always mentioned for playing cues. So I have to ask the seller or scour the internet for info that should be provided. If I'm wrong about this, then it would make sense not to mention it. I'm just looking for a cheaper way to get both jump and break. Why spend so much money when you already have equipment to match? Other than you want a good j/b that is. I've got enough cues already. I rarely jump, but of course, I am breaking all the time. Am I right or wrong on this?

Many jump cues had 14mm tip and a conical tapper, that type of shaft is not the best for break shot. Usually the pin on jump cues is one that should screw/unscrew fast, that's why no reason to put there a 5/16x14 or 3/10x8 pin.
To put a break shaft on your player, I think is a waste of time and momentum. You can buy a break/jump cue for less 100$, or you can have 2 different cues for same money.

Thanks for the info, I do recall seeing different style pin on jump handles, but have never owned one, so wasn't too sure. Hope this isn't bumping, not selling anything here.

Looking for a nice jump cue....

I'm not sure if your looking into buying a jump cue. For the money, I think James Henshew makes one of the best jump cues out there. I also own a custom Lomax jump cue, and it's another great jump cue. It really depends on the player, but if you get a chance to play with either jumper I say check them out if you can. Good luck in your search.
