The cue I use for jumping has a phenalic tip and wood joint. Very lightweight. When it comes to jumping what is the best technique? First I heard of the dart method, second I heard of the overhand method. Now, I been using the overhand methond. About 5' 8" and skinny as a rail. For me overhand on close shots and far away jump shots are no problem. Some people tell me the dart method is better. When I try it I always misscue. What is the best method?

Although I'm getting better at underhand techique in a match i do every mid to short jump dart style b/c thats how i learned but on a long jump since i have the mezz pb2 and its a shorter break cue i use it for long jumps full cue. I tend to notice that phenolific tips are great but for control over the ball the sonic tip on the pb2 is better.

On technique for dart did you shoot thru the ball. What i do is when i shoot i usually see the ball as a flat surface and then i rotate that flat plane the the angle at which i want to jump, so i can say that i usually always shoot center ball, most of the time, it just depends on how you see the ball's center point. It might be easier if i say that i shoot the ball at the angle of elevation or take off point, but that point i see is on the table so i follow thru on every jump shot.
