Jumping Fool

Yesterday I played in a fun little ring game and had to jump the ball about 8 times. I made 6 of those 8 jumps and ran out the game because of the success of that jump. I was on "jumping" fire. And I mean some ridiculously hard jump shots.

I have a Gulyassy Break/Jump cue, and I tell you.....my break sucks regardless of what I use....but for jumping - that cue is the nuts.

The guys I was playing with said next time they're banning jump cues, LOL. I told them I couldn't blame them.

What is your favorite jump cue?

I previously had a J&J which I liked well enough but then decided to get separate cues for each function: a Bk2 and a Jacoby. The Jacoby is a nice cue with a brass ferrule. BTW, I'm currently in a jumping slump. I used to get "air" each time and had a fair percentage of completions; however, recently I'm having trouble "getting air." Think I need to "explode through it a bit more."

Completely agreed. My Sledgehammer is nuts too.

I also have a j/b with g-10 ferrule and one of those j/b leather tips that is hard as hell. The Sledgehammer outperforms it by every measure (except maybe pretty...).

I think I'm lucky, because I learned to jump with a full cue. I just practiced it and developed a "feel" and technique for it....so learning to jump with a jump cue was that much easier.

My first break/jump cue was given to me by Rick Howard in Ft. Walton Beach Fl. That cue played/broke/jumped great. I had it for years....and then went a long period without a break/jump cue.

I bought this one last year. It showed up with a warp in the shaft (I forgot to mention that....LOL) from the seller who refused to take it back. I kept it and use it....and the warp really doesn't affect anything at all. It isn't a major warp anyhow. I mean...every jump I have a 50/50 chance of making it on reasonable pockets. Its too easy with the Gulyassy....

The Predator Air jump cue is awesome. I won an 8-ball scotch doubles game by jumping a full ball that was was about 8" from the cue ball, and making the 8 ball which was was a long straight in jump shot. I've also made some really nice shorter jump shots with an air bridge with this cue. I had a Lucasi jump cue, and I couldn't jump with any accuracy. The cue ball almost always squirted right or left on me. I don't have this problem with the Predator Air.
