When you say this "Match Races: Because all age groups will be competing together, match races will be as follows:", do you mean that they are all in a single bracket?

That may not sit will with the kids and parents. A 10 yr old, unless oddly talented, will not win a game against a 16 yr old and will be a bit sad. I will guarantee that no parent would want their young kid playing against someone that has a beard no matter what the handicap race is. I go to a lot of junior tournaments and hear what the parents say on the sidelines.

Two divisions are much better, and if you use the handicaps for age groups then, it's a good idea, so have a 14-17 bracket with 14 and 15 yr olds going to 5 and 16,17 going to 6 for example.

Yes, all kids will be in the same bracket this year.

This is the first year of this Junior's Division and it's difficult to know how many will participate. We decided that one good sized bracket in this first year is better than two smaller ones. After all, it's zero entry fee, no membership fee, no payouts, and four winners (based on age) will qualify for the BEF Junior National Championships.

We understand and appreciate the other perspective but we believe this is the best format for this first year. If participation is high, we can certainly entertain separate divisions in the future.

Thanks for the feedback.
