I am a "young" player which means i can't go into bars or other places like that and in my town the only place that holds tournaments are bar/pool halls. I'm just wanting to get some info from other players with the same situation as me. How do you guys keep your intrest(playing rack after rack of nine ball alone gets really old after 4 hours).

Hey there, I'm pretty much in the same situation. I go to college at Clemson University and you have to be 21 to enter all the bars after 9. What I normally do is practice for about an hour a day and then just find someone to play. Are you not allowed to get to a pool table at all?

What I have seen work, get a group of kids that want to play after school each day before 5 and show the owner your interest and also the possible dollar number projection and what he stands to make each month then multiply that times 12 months and he may be willing to listen. Another angle is to tell him your parents approve and signed an agreement letting you and your friends in, and if you screw up at home, she can call the room and have you sit out for a predetermined time and vice versa if your outta line in the room, also you could have the room owner teach you etiquette of equipment and the rules, better than hanging out at the mall. This will HELP the room owners long term business grow $$$$$$. Now if its a small room and all the tables are being used, good luck, but never hurts to 'ask'. Hope this helps.

I am 16, I had the same situation. In Most of the halls I know, I'm in good with the owners. I'm also a big tipper.
I live with a diffrent problem. I am 5'7", 200lbs and I have long curly red hair. So I sorta stick-out,lol.
Get in good with the owners, state your situation, Introduce yourself and
make yourself known.

if you have a local legion or moose lodge those places are considered 'family establishemnts' i have been playing in the two in my town since i was 15 or so. now that i'm 19 i'm considered a regular. i'm in there a few times a week. i'm just polite to the old guys and try not to talk politics :)

love of the game, i just have a passion that makes me want to be the best. iam 15 by the way
