Wednesday night a fairly new tournament started at a local pool hall on the beach side of town. I thought I would check it out along with my girlfriend. She usually is the social butterfly and watches me play. My girlfriend has been playing for about a year now under my tutelage and a few others. She decided to test the waters and enter her first tournament.

As the night progressed, I went 2 and out. As for my girlfriend? She won the tournament. Only losing the first set in the finals.

Hooray for Dawn!!!

That's great. You are a lucky guy to have a girlfriend/wife that enjoys the game with you!
My wife entered her first tournament ever Wednesday night as well. Came down to me and her for a face off in the losers bracket.:rolleyes:

Thats great to hear bro, i bet that is a memory to enjoy and keep forever. My girlfriend plays the game with me time to time and watches me play at leagues but i could never get her to play with me or play in a tournament.

As expected.:p She broke and ran out 6 balls (8Ball) to leave me a wide open table.
I tried to dump the second game so we could play it out longer (race to 3), but she just gave up.
Ive been trying to get her to enter for awhile now to learn to play under pressure and have a few cheap sets lined up this weekend with a guy I think she can beat.

She has came along way since she first started playing. Really becoming a student of the game, reading, watching and studying. A lot better then my ex wife, she despised anything pool related. Neena (my wife's name) moved our kitchen table into the garage to make room for the pool table!:D

Can't get no better than that. A wife to do something like that is a pool players dream come true. I wish i could get my girlfriend to become a student of the game but she does let me play in leagues as much i play the game and doesn't get mad so she is a keeper, plus she doesn't bother me when pool is on t.v. LOL i think from recent times she knows she ain't going to get much outta me then. Its kewl that you tried to dump the game for her i would of did the same thing so how did you do after your game did you win the tournament?
