Just a note about service

I've got a nice curly maple carter cue. I got the cue in a trade, and it hadn't been played with much at all when I got it. I noticed that one of the shafts was tapped slightly off center, and sent a email to Chad. He offered to make a new shaft for the cue free of charge. I thought that offer was great, and wasn't expecting it to be honest. He sent me a email today, and has offered to refinish the cue, and the other shaft I have free of charge as well. Seem's he has changed how he finishes cues and thinks the new finish is better than what he used to use.

I find this level of customer service to be above and beyond what I expect. Especially when I got the cue in a trade, and didn't buy it new from him. I have a short list of cue makers that I've really enjoyed working with and now Chad is on that list.

Posted this in the main forum, but thought I'd post it here too.

I would not expect anything less from Chad, he is a class act.

Great to hear Joe! Too bad in today's society, more people are not like Chad. Be sure to ask him if the new clear will effect the weight, something I just found out the hard way. :(

I rather resent you saying that Sore. In "today's society" there are many qualified and reliable repair persons & cue makers you could have chosen from. Instead though, you went for the low price not the reputation. It's unfortunate that your job turned out to be lesser quality than what you expected, but please do not group others with the person you chose. That's really not fair.

Do you really believe this? 1 3/8 ounce? If any difference at all, it would have been a net loss in weight in the finish coats. The gain of 1 3/8 ounce had to have been in the leather wrap.

On this cue some more weight wouldn't be bad. I'll weigh it when I get it back and let you know though.
