Ok, I have been reading the IPT threads up here for awhile now. Most of the IPT post have been extremely negative from the very begining, almost as though certain people don't want the IPT to succeed. I had to ask myself the question.....Is pool doomed to being a fringe activity/sport because that is the way fans/players (non pro) want it?
I mean, people, the IPT CAN take this game to a level that was only dreamed about a short year ago. I will admit that the current situation does not inspire confidence. But I for one am hoping that it works out. However, I am not naive, even if/when the IPT pays everyone, the very same people will be on this board saying "Yeah, so everyone got paid. Lets see what happens in Chicago"
Since the very beginning I have read, "it won't work", "KT is a con man", "there's no money", etc etc etc.
Now, I don't know if it is true or not (and neither do you). However, just on the outside chance that this will work, shouldn't WE throw our support behind it. And if it doesn't work we can go back to where we were....Remember? A player flies to LA, pays for a hotel, beats 100 or so other great players, and leaves with 10k
