That table is straight out of a nightmare.

Looks like that could be some fun.
One question, why do the rails have that hump in the middle?

That hump is part of the rail system. It is a 7 inch section of the rail that is straight, it's about 3/4 of an inch past the curved section of the rail. A lot of your banking depends on those straight sections of bumpers.
