just curious, when using a cue with a big pin which screws into a wood thread, over time, with relatively heavy usage, assembling and dismantling, will the wood thread wear out quickly or will it last?

there is no reason it should get sloppy but you if you take care when putting together there should not be a problem

Mike Zuglan's 73 Joss has that joint..
I hit with it in the late 90's...still tight.
But you can't lend it to someone who is careless....
..kinda like having a car with a standard tranny...if you lend it to bad drivers..
..you'll go through a lotta clutches
