I just finished reading "Running the Table" the Danny "Kid Delicious" Basavich story and I must say that it is a worthwhile read. It confirms how truly small the world is and especially the pool world in general. I pitched coins for hundreds of dollars with Scotty Townsend, we took over $6,000 off of Chris Bartram and co. a few years back letting them play ghost games, went on the road with Shannon Daulton hustling golf games, and had several gambling encounters with Tony Watson, Little John, and others mentioned. I recently played in a WPT event in Biloxi and after 4 hours they moved me to another table and I look across from me and see Richey Simonsky of all people! Even Danny himself came to our house after a UPA event in Athens and backed a friend of his. He was just as polite and congenial as the book described. A few of our friends were really drunk and thought his nickname was "Kid Rotisserie", but Danny just smiled and never corrected them. I'm sure most others that frequent this forum can relate to several stories they have involving the players mentioned in the book. It would be great if other areas of society besides just the pool landscape would read books like this and take more of an interest in pool.
