Just got lasik done Jan 15th.

For me, the biggest drawback with Lasik has been my loss of up close vision. Before Lasik, I could read tiny print right in front of my face. After Lasik, I had to get reading glasses. A small price to pay for all the benefits. But anyone approaching 40 should be aware of that possibility if they're getting Lasik done. I've heard and read quite a few horror stories about this procedure, but I have to say, my Lasik experience has been pretty awesome so far. I've recommended it to several people. One of my best friends was something like 20/400. After my Lasik, he started looking into the procedure. He finally got it done a few months ago and is 20/15. He's had glasses since he was about 8 years old and is loving life without glasses or contacts!

I had Lasik done in 2001. Went from -300 /-270 to 20/20 and 20/15. My vision was so bad before surgery that I had one of those alarm clocks with numbers bigger than my fingers. Even so, I still had to grab the clock and move it closer to my face to read the time. I recommend this surgery to anyone with bad vision. For me it was some of the best money I have ever spent.

Now you are really part of the Illuminati. :-)
