If everything goes smooth with players getting paid what they win on time and vendors and spectators arrive home happy, then just maybe the US.OPEN will return to normal next year!

Iam one that is hopeing everything goes right this year, so the US.OPEN can return to what it once was!

The best Tournament in the world!

R.I.P. US Open

For a huge event there I am surprised there is no picture or someone reporting the event.

Anybody with a camera can snap pictures and right small articles. Get exposure.

Nothing. We don't know whats going on there except some bracket we look at.

Wishful thinking

This is wishful thinking. The US open's success hangs in the balance. The bad mojo of this event has been earned, over a loooooong period of time. Last year was just the final straw. It will take several years of flawless performance to earn back the trust of the players, fans and sponsors. Currently, the Open is in decline. Without full fields, there are less spectators and will mean less revenues. It can create a negative cycle. It can NOT be turned around in one year.

I disagree. You can buy the accustats stream for $60 all week and hear all kinds of news from commentators in addition to seeing many dozens of matches. Cheaper than a tank of gas and you get the vibe that you're physically there.

Great post Sir, i have to agree with everything you say!

I'm here, it's pitiful. The spectator seating is really bad in both the general admission and VIP. The ceiling is too low to have a TV table and VIP arena area and the room is just simply not big enough for the event. I've been in the VIP seats for 25 years and last year and this year I'll be doing something else most of the time I'm here.

Maybe I am Mr. Positive BUT... I love being back here ... I have had no issue with the seating (see pic) in VIP or general admission. I sometimes think as the rail gets older the rail gets crankier (LOL).... Last night when I returned from Q-Master I got back in time to catch some of the Stevie Moore match... A young couple (I am getting old but they looked like they were 12!) were in my seats... Drinks in hand and enjoying the match and the atmosphere... when I came up the stairs they saw my badge and were preparing to leave... I told them they looked too comfortable to move and enjoy the match.

We need someone on the rail with more time in front of them then behind! Any way I for one am NOT negative ...
